The Secret to Healthy Hair

Olaplex is automatically included in all of our lightening services, and for good reason! As a studio that specializes in blonding, we want you to get the best structural integrity and colour longevity that you can. In this blog, we’ll be breaking down all the W’s of Olaplex and why it is a must for your hair so you can get all the blonde for your buck!

What is Olaplex?

Olaplex is a unique treatment in that it works towards repairing the disulphide bonds in your hair. It fixes your hair from the inside out at the molecular level using a patented active ingredient. Compromising of 5 products total (including their new shampoo and conditioner), it is offered as an in-salon treatment with take-home maintenance products.

How Does Olaplex Work?

Like we just mentioned, it rebuilds the disulphide bonds which get broken down by heat and chemicals. It works on the inner strength of the hair, so it is important to note that this treatment will not leave your hair feeling buttery and soft like some other treatments do- but this doesn’t mean it’s not doing anything! Your hair will thank you from the inside immediately, and over time it will look better on the outside too.

Why Do I Need Olaplex?

You need it as protection and insurance while lifting your hair. Not only will it decrease the chances of damaging your hair while lightening, but it will make sure that your hair is in better condition for the next time you go to lighten it. If your hair is already damaged, this is the first step to getting it back on track. If you want to grow your hair, this is a great way to keep it healthy.

Who is Olaplex for?

This is highly recommended for anyone and everyone! Especially those who are trying to strengthen their hair or push the boundaries of colour. But don’t worry- it’s not just for blondes. It can be added to any service and can be used in any hair type. Like we mentioned, it’s already added into your lightening service but make sure you talk to your stylist about what to take home and how to properly use it.

When Should I Use Olaplex?

Olaplex should be used before, during, and after each colour service (hence why they have take-home products). It will not over-proteinize the hair as it’s not a protein treatment, but it should be used in conjunction with a protein mask. Our Redken Mega Masks are a great option as they are also chemistry based but more external and will leave you with a silky result. Using this before your service really ensure that your hair is the best canvas for your stylist to work on.

Where Can I get Olaplex?

Enjoy your treatment from the comfort of our studio or your own shower! We will add it into your lightening service, but you can add it on to any other service, or just come in for the treatment itself if you want. We also offer an express version that gets the job done in less time for those who are always on the go. You can purchase the home treatment so that you can take care of your hair from home too. Talk to your stylist about it!

No. 1: Rebuild & Repair

This step rebuilds the broken disulphide bonds and prevents damage while also repairing the hair. This part is done at the salon.

This step will ensure stronger, shinier, and more-supple strands. This portion is also done at the salon and can be done as an express treatment.
